ACFA: Maiden Board of Trustees

The African Centre for Financial Accountability (ACFA), a newly established independent Think Tank dedicated to bridging the “Accountability Gap” in Public Financial Management is pleased to announce the appointment of its maiden Board of Trustees.
The announcement comes ahead of the official public launch of the organization, marking a significant milestone in the mission to institutionalize fiscal integrity across the African Continent.
The Think Tank was founded by Hon Albert Kan-Dapaah, a distinguished Chartered Accountant, former Partner at PKF, former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, former Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament and veteran Cabinet Minister with over 16 years of executive experience across the Energy, Communications, Interior, Defence and National Security portfolios.
In a media interaction, he recounted that “across the African continent, a profound paradox exists. We possess some of the most sophisticated Public Financial Management (PFM) laws in the world. We have dedicated Auditors General who work tirelessly to track every cedi. Yet, year after year, the same narratives of ‘unaccounted funds’ and budget leakages dominate our headlines. The problem is not a lack of rules; it is a systemic gap. ACFA was established to be the bridge across these divides. This Board brings together a rare combination of financial and legislative expertise to ensure that public resources truly serve the public interest.”
